   COURTLAND  Maggie Whitehead Barnes, 89, died Jan. 23, 2001, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Barnes was a native of Isle of Wight county and was a daughter of the late Ira Goode and Pearl Davis Whitehead. She was a widow of Robert Theodore Barnes, Sr.  She was a homemaker and a member of Sebrell United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie B. Hasty of Courtland and Sarah B. Womble of Franklin; one son Robert Theodore Barnes, Jr. of Courtland; three grandchildren, Deborah H. Bradshaw, Robbie Lee Hasty, and Kelli B. Garris; three great-grandchildren, Shannon B. Cutting, Amy M. Bradshaw, and W.C. Bradshaw; and six great-great-grandchildren, Morgan Ashley Garris, Justin Thomas Garris, Kevin, Amber and Heather Cutting and Rhiannon Griffith. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Elizabeth Von Trapp Walker. The burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Courtland. Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the residence at 20280 Mussock Drive, Courtland. Memorials may be made to Sebrell United Methodist Church or Courtland Volunteer Rescue Squad.
