GENEVIEVE MARY VOLPE

Virginian Pilot - OBIT DATED 12-7-2004

WALTERS - Genevieve Mary "Jenny" Volpe, 66, a resident of Norfolk,
entered into eternal rest Dec. 6, 2004, at her son's home in Walters
after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jenny was born in
Walters, the daughter of the late Benjamin Volpe formerly of Montella,
Italy, and Mary Powell Volpe of Walters. Her parents owned and operated
what was known in the community as Volpe's Store.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son, Volpe M. Boykin and wife

were at her bedside until she entered eternity. She had many cousins
throughout the United States and Italy, along with many devoted and
faithful friends.

She graduated from Portsmouth General Hospital's School of Nursing as a
registered nurse and later obtained her bachelor's in nursing. She first
served in the emergency room of Portsmouth General Hospital and the
remainder of her 42-year nursing career at the Public health departments
of Portsmouth and Norfolk. She was also the assistant director of
Disaster Services for the American Red Cross. She retired from the
Norfolk Health Dept. in 2001.

At the request of Genevieve before her death and the family, floral
arrangements will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to
