Ella Sue Vaughan, 52, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Richmond.
She was born in Southampton County on Aug. 1, 1947, the daughter of the late Charles P. and Betty Hill Vaughan. She was a longtime resident of Kenmore Convalescent Center in Richmond.
She is survived by five brothers, Paul T. Vaughan and his wife, Lavern, of Suffolk, Billy N. Vaughan and his wife, Elaine, of Tucson, Ariz., David C. Vaughan and his wife, Georgia, of Dover, Del., Willie F. Vaughan of Newsoms and Samuel W. Vaughan and his wife, Gini, of Goldsboro, N.C.; 10 nieces; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles G. Vaughan, and a sister, Shelia Vaughan Hazelwood.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Kenneth Williams and the Rev. James Perdue. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donations in Ella Sue's memory may be made to the Special Olympics. ``We'll miss our angel.''
