LOIS TAYLOR JOHNSON

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - November 13, 1998 

Lois Taylor Johnson, 86, a former resident of Newsoms , Va., and widow of Thomas Brantley Johnson, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998, in Gatesville, N.C., after a long illness. 

Born Sept. 17, 1912, in Galacia, N.C., her parents were the late Bessie and Ernest Taylor. She was a member of the Newsoms Baptist Church when she lived in the Newsoms area prior to World War II and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Portsmouth. 

She is survived by one son, Thomas Charles Johnson of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins, is handling arrangements.
