FRANKLIN - Jane Surace Delessio, 94, died April 27, 2001. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Lucia Paraphet Surace and the widow of Angelo Delessio. She retired after 45 years of service from St. Regis Paper Co. where she was a secretary. Mrs. Delessio was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church where she had taught Sunday School for over 20 years and was a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the High Street Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a daughter, Lucy D. Darden and husband, Charles, of Franklin; two grandchildren, Charles B. Darden Jr. and wife, Deborah, and Michael L. Darden; two great-grandchildren, Crystal D. Swarmer and husband, Chris and Charles B. Darden III; and a great-great-granddaughter, Crystina Swarmer.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Jude's Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Carl DeSouza. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery . A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Wright Funeral Home where the family will receive friends afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franklin Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 179 or St. Jude's Building Fund, 1014 Clay St., Franklin, VA 23851.
