Marvin Steele Turner, 66, of the 27000 block of Honeysuckle Lane, died June 3, 1999, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 

Born in Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late David Warren Turner and Annie L. Rhodes Turner. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for I.U.O.E. AFL-CIO Local No. 147. He was a member of Boaz Presbyterian Church and the Purdie Masonic Lodge No. 170. He was a U.S. Army veteran. 

He is survived by his wife, Ovella Hall Turner; a daughter, Janet Turner Rhodes; a granddaughter, Laurie Leigh Rhodes, all of Windsor; and a multitude of friends. 

A funeral with Masonic rites will be at 2 p.m. today at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Basil L. Ballard. Burial will be in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and are invited to join other times at the residence. Contributions may be made to Operation Smile, 6435 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk VA 23509.
