NAOMI SPENCER JOYNER

FRANKLIN - Naomi Spencer Joyner, 86, widow of Ernest William Joyner,
died Oct. 27.

Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Burnie and Price
Allen Hazelgrove Spencer. A graduate of the Jefferson School of
Commerce, Mrs. Joyner was retired from the cash receipts and
disbursements department of Union Camp Corp.

She had been active in the XYZ Club of the James L. Camp, Jr. YMCA, the
Peanut Promenaders and was a long time member and Sunday school teacher
at Franklin Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosalie J. Lowman and husband Ed of
Richmond and Lynne J. Kennedy and husband Joe of Midlothian; a
brother-in-law, Cornelius Johnson Boyd of Ellicott City, Md.; two
sisters-in-law, Anne Spencer of Buffalo, N.Y., and Hattie Joyner Dailey
of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Stephanie Lynne Ellis, Anne Rae Brown,
and Terri Lea Patterson; three great-grandchildren, William Braxton
Brown, Christopher Rae Brown and Courtney Alyssa Ellis; and many nieces
and nephews.

Mrs. Joyner was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Oct. 30, in the chapel of Wright
Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. Dr. A.
Richard Childress officiating. Burial will follow in Windsor Cemetery.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Resident Activities Fund at
University Park Nursing Home, 2420 Pemberton Road, Richmond, VA 23233.
