VIOLET ROSE BARTON

WINDSOR - Violet Rose Barton, 89, died June 20, 2001, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. 
Born in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Carlos F. Rose and Lillie Powell Rose. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Daisy R. Salmon, Pansy R. Burns and Marguerite R. Smith. She retired with Planters in the Personnel Department after 28 years. She was a member of Windsor Baptist Church and Class No. 3, formerly the L.T. Hall Bible Class. She was a former member of the Women's Missionary Union and the Women's Christian Temperance, Sedley Chapter. 
The widow of Walter E. Barton Sr., she is survived by a daughter, Nancy B. Harvell of Suffolk; son and daughter-in-law, Walter E. Barton Jr. and Phyllis H. Barton; granddaughter, Nancy Anne B. Altstatt and husband, Jason W. Altstatt; grandson, Phillip E. Barton; great-grandchildren, Tyler W. Altstatt and Jillian Rose Altstatt, all of Sedley; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. David L. Johnson Sr. and grandson, Phillip E. Barton. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Walter E. Barton Jr., 18144 Rosemont Road, Sedley, VA 23878. 
Memorials may be made to the Windsor Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 498, Windsor, VA 23487.
