Lois Revelle Gayle, 73, died April 7, 2003 at her residence. Born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., she was the daughter of the late George C. and Ada Taylor Revelle. She was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. 

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Wilbur Talmadge Gayle; two daughters, Debra Ann Gayle Cale of Suffolk and Lisa Kaye Gayle Brown of Chesterfield; a son, Brian Keith Gayle of Powhatan; a sister, Mildred Smith; brother, Robert Lee Revelle; and three grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Cale, Bradley David Gayle and Andrew Brian Gayle. Mrs. Gayle was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Leonard C. Revelle. 

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and requests memorials be made to Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 North High St., Franklin, VA 23851.
