Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - August 8, 2000 

Barbara Lou Railey, 60, a resident of Williamsburg for the past 10 years, died Aug. 7, 2000, at her home. 

She was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late Russell Brett ``Hap'' and Clara Bradshaw Railey. A graduate of Longwood College, she was a member of Kappa Delta Gamma Sorority and was a former teacher with Southampton County Public Schools and Southampton Academy. She retired as a concierge with Kingsmill Resort and Conference Center in Williamsburg. She was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include two sons, Craig Olden Smith of Newport News and Todd Brett Smith and his wife, Kristen, of Williamsburg; a sister, Dorothy R. Grizzard and her husband, Jerry, of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Gabrielle Smith, Joshua Smith and Brett Smith; and two nieces, Susan G. Hiser of Gloucester and Kim G. Jones of Yorktown. 

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Newsoms United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Langley and the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests that memorials be made to Newsoms UMC, P.O. Box 297, Newsoms , VA 23874, or to the Scleroderma Foundation, 89 Newbury St., Suite 201, Danvers, MA 01923.
