Mabel R. Lowe 

IVOR - Mabel Raiford Lowe, 87, wife of the late W. Edgar Lowe, passed away March 25, 2002, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born May 29, 1914, in Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Fabius and Anise Raiford. Mrs. Lowe was retired as an LPN at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, and was a lifetime member of Corinth Friends Meeting in Ivor. 

She is survived by her daughter, Jane D. Smith and husband Doug of Windsor; a granddaughter, Niki Lee Jernigan of Franklin; a great-grandson, Bradley Jernigan of Franklin; devoted niece, Charlotte L. Hohman of Ivor; special nephew, Leland Beaton of Smithfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at Corinth Friends Meeting, Ivor, at 2 p.m. Thursday officiated by Ken and Pat Thames, pastors. Mrs. Lowe will be resting at the Corinth Friends Meeting House at noon prior to the service. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery . The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Corinth Friends Meeting Memorial Fund, 13494 Corinth Road, Ivor, VA 23866.
