FRANCES R. SWAIN

Frances R. Swain, 76, of the 21200 block of Garrison Drive, died Aug. 25, 1999. 

A homemaker, Mrs. Swain was a native of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, the adult Sunday school class and Kann Circle. She was a former Sunday school teacher, church treasurer and director of the Women's Missionary Union. She was the daughter of the late Elam Thomas Rhodes and Marie Holmes Rhodes. She was predeceased by her husband, George B. Swain, and daughter, Linda Swain. 

Survivors include daughters, Marie Watson of Smithfield and Margaret Odom and her husband, Robert, of Franklin; son, G. Brad Swain Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a sister, Elizabeth H. Wilkins; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Ira Hudgins. Friends may join the family at the residence of Elizabeth Wilkins, 30 Duke St., Windsor, VA 23487. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Pembroke Four, Suite 232, 291 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home is in charge.
