GLADYS MARIE PULLEY FOXWELL

HURLOCK - Gladys Marie Foxwell of Hurlock died suddenly Thursday,
Feb. 16, 2006 at her home. She was 73. She was born April 30, 1932,
in Courtland, Va. She was the oldest child of the late James Hennon
Pulley and Pattie Mae Pulley (Baugham). Her husband, Clarence M.
Foxwell, died Jan. 18, 1988. She married Clarence Milton Foxwell of
Caroline County, Md., on Oct. 26, 1952 in a ceremony at Monk's
Corner, S.C. , near where Mr. Foxwell was employed as an iron worker.
After living briefly in Carolina County, she and her husband moved to
their home in Hurlock in 1960. She worked for a number of years for
Harper and Bateman Pickling Co. in Hurlock. She later worked for
Western Publishing Co., Airpax and Cambridge Scientific before going
to work for and retiring from Black and Decker Inc. in Easton. She
also worked for many years as an Avon representative. She volunteered
as a foster grandmother with the Head Start program in Hurlock and
was a member of the Fellowship Committee and Nifty Fifty Group at the
First Baptist Church of Hurlock, where she was a longtime member. In
recent years she and also provided in-home care for numerous elderly
patients on an as-needed basis. She is survived by their son, J. Dale
Foxwell and his family, his brother, Francis C. Foxwell and his
family.
She is also survived by one brother, Robert T. Pulley and his family;
two sisters, Betty Sue Cox and her family and Sara Lee McNeal and her
family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by
three brothers, George D. Pulley, James A. Pulley, and H. Earl Pulley
and five sisters, Annie R. Baugham, L. Frances Harrup, Hattie M.
Gyoker, Gloria E. Pulley, and Emily L. Walton.
Funeral services for her will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Frampton
Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with the Rev. Francis Transcritti
officiating. Friends may call Monday from Noon until 2 p.m. at the
Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Foxwell, Brian
Foxwell, Robert Pulley, Dennis Shannon, Randy Walton and Dean McNeal
and as honorary pallbearers, Charles Wheatley and Steve Warner. For
