BOYKINS - Inez Pope Barnes, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Courtland Health Care. 
A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Rena Taylor Pope. She was the widow of Claudie Thomas Barnes. 
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline B. Hickman and her husband Frank of Wilmington, N.C.; three grandchildren, Wilton Hickman and his wife Dorothy of Boykins, Teresa Howlett and her husband Duane of Wilmington, N.C., and Joy Hickman of Raleigh, N.C.; one great-grandchild, Craig Hickman and his wife Michaela of Martha's Vineyard, Mass.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Doug and Andrew Hickman. Mrs. Barnes was predeceased by a son, Kenneth ''Buddy'' Barnes, and three sisters, Doris Nelms, Creathie Taylor and Louise Perry. 
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Boykins.
