REBA ELIZABETH OVERLY BEASLEY

 Mrs. Reba Elizabeth Overby Beasley, 68, a resident of Branchville, Va., died Friday Jan. 30, 1998, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. 
A lifelong resident of Southampton County, she was predeceased by her parents, Robert C. and Nellie Beale Overby; sisters, Eva Beale and Virginia House; brothers, Collis C. Overby, Russell Overby, Rudolph Overby and Clinton Overby. She retired in 1983 after 37 years with the U.S. Postal Service, Branchville office, where she had served as clerk, officer-in-charge, postmaster and postmaster trainer. She was a member of the Branchville United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Branchville Fire Department, a member of the National Association of Postmasters, past president of Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters - Retired, and she had helped found and was a member of the Cancer Support Group of Boykins. She was a 1947 graduate of Boykins High School. 
She is survived by her husband, Clay William Beasley; four brothers, Larry B. Overby of Franklin, Linwood H. Overby of Raleigh, N.C., Herman ''Kyser'' Overby of Branchville, Alton H. Overby of Boykins; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a large extended family and a host of friends. 
A graveside service will be held in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, at 3:30 p.m. today by the Rev. Thomas H. Caulkins. The family and pallbearers will assemble at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins, at 2:30 p.m. for the procession to the cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Branchville Community Center, c/o Diane Umphlett, Branchville, Va. 23828.
