Obituary of Lucy Norfleet Garnett

LUCY N. GARNETT

Lucy Norfleet Garnett, 81, of the 400 block of N. Main St., died March 27, 1997. 

A native of Suffolk, she was a daughter of the late William Joseph and Mary Morris Norfleet, the widow of William Julian Garnett Sr. and the mother of the late William J. Garnett Jr. and Stanford C. Garnett. Mrs. Garnett was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and the Nansemond-Suffolk Historical Society. She attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College and was a former operator of several antique businesses in Suffolk over the years. 
Survivors include her daughters, Virginia G. Carrington of Virginia Beach, Hannah G. Hall of Long Beach, N.C.; two grandchildren, Tanya Cameron Hall and Jonathan Lindon Hall. 
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby. The family will receive friends in her home, 433 N. Main St., today from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 902 Pennsylvania Ave., Suffolk, Va. 23434 or to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Memorial Department, One Joslin Place, Boston, Mass. 02215. R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home is in charge.
