Obituary of Oma Elizabeth Maston Bracey

OMA ELIZABETH MASTON BRACEY

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - December 14, 2006

NORFOLK - Oma Elizabeth Maston Bracey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother
and sister, peacefully returned to her Father in heaven Dec. 12, 2006,
surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 2, 1923, in Norfolk
to William Maston and Hursey Spence. She worked at the registrar's
office at the College of William and Mary and attended Elon College. She
married Littleton E. Bracey Jan. 20, 1954, which was later solemnized in
the LDS Salt Lake Temple June 9, 1984. She was a member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to share her testimony. Her
parents, her brothers Garland, Bill Jr., Denwood, Dwight and her husband
Littleton preceded her in death.

She is survived by her eight children, Myra (Lloyd) Kartchner, Annette
(Jim) Tabb, Leigh-Ellen (Ferris) Kent, Lee Bracey, Bill (Rebecca)
Bracey, Richard (Kim) Bracey, Roberta (John) Brassell and Amy (Tony)
Doyle. She was very proud of her 32 grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Mildred
Andersen.

She will be remembered for her honesty and outspokenness, her
persistence, her willingness to sacrifice, her love of music, passion
for genealogy and legacy of faith. She loved her home, family and the
Lord.

The funeral will be held Saturday at noon at the LDS church at 113
Sinclair Lane, Yorktown, Va., with a viewing from 11 to 11:45 a.m. The
family will also receive friends Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Parr
Funeral Home, 447 W. Washington St., Suffolk. Interment will be at the
Antioch Christian Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest for a
time. The family wishes to thank her special friends and caregivers and
also her wonderful neighbors.
