SUFFOLK - Anne Lee Harrell, 80, of the 200 block of W. Constance Road, died May 20, 2002, at Nansemond Pointe Healthcare.
A native of Nansemond County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lassiter and Ladonia Lassiter. She retired as a nurse for Lakeside Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Main Street, Dorcas Sunday School class, Susan Stokeld Missionary Circle, Women's Missionary Union, and she taught the adult and youth Sunday School classes.
The widow of Richard Harrell, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and P.D. Greene Jr. of Gates, N.C., and Nancy S. and Randy L. Carter of Suffolk; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin R. and Dianne Simpson of Conyers, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Janet G. Askew, Percy D. Greene III, Anita G. Johnson, Marvin Simpson, David Simpson, Kristie Bracy and Pendaley Prosper; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Mays of Wilmington, N.C., Gladys Almond and Pauline Queen, both of Little Washington, N.C.; and brother, Randy Lassiter of Hampton.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. David Chauncey. Family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harrell & Hill Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Nancy S. Carter, 202 Staley Drive.
