Gladys Horton Parker, 80, died May 18, 1997, at Courtland Health Care Center. 

Mrs. Parker was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Oliver LeRoy and Mildred Inglis Horton. She was a former resident of Norfolk, Warrenton, Va. and Bothell, Wash. Mrs. Parker was a retired bookkeeper for Suburban Cleaners, Norfolk, and was a Methodist. 

She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Parker Bryant and her husband, Jim of Courtland ; five grandchildren, Mary Bryant, Jimmy Bryant, Mark Bryant, Steve Jones and Robert Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Wade Jones, Jarred Jones and Conrad Bryant. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Carol Jones. 

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. William Hawkins and the Rev. Robert Parks. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 101 W. Plume St., Norfolk, Va. 23510. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is in charge.
