SUFFOLK - Otelia Holt Powell, 93, died Aug. 30, 2001. A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Holt and Bessie Virginia Mumford Holt and the widow of Lee Early ``Earl'' Powell. She was a registered nurse with Lakeview Hospital until 1932 when she transferred and retired as assistant superintendent of Obici School of Nursing in 1970 with 38 years of service. She was a member of Providence Methodist Church. She is survived by brother and sister-in-law, A.J. "Jack" Holt and Gladys B. Holt of Ivor.
  A funeral was to be held at 2 p.m., Sept.1, at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Hank Teague with interment in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O.Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
