Marian Louise Hill Tarkington, daughter of John Henry Hill and Bertie Lowe Hill, deceased, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Monday, 3 December, 2001 at 20:45.
She was born 26 November 1929 and was the former wife of John William Snowdon (deceased) of Norfolk.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Rose; two sons, Jimmy Snowdon of Norfolk and the Rev. Tommy Snowdon of Jacksonville, N.C.; brother, John H. Hill; sisters, Clara Harrison and Janet Warren; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her fiance, Jim Deems.
There will be an informal gathering for family members at Altmeyer Funeral Home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. The service will be held at noon Saturday at Grassfield Baptist Church, Cedar Road, Chesapeake, and the committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Beaver Dam Cemetery, Carrsville, Va. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Tommy Snowdon and the Rev. Norman March.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary contributions toward the funeral expenses to be sent to Jimmy or Tommy Snowdon, 4445 Hinsdale St., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
