Peggy Edwards Gilland, 52, died March 17, 2003 in Wake Medical Center, Raleigh, N.C. 
Born May 27, 1950 in Suffolk, she was the daughter of Emily Logan Edwards of Raleigh and the late Elvin Madison Edwards. Mrs. Gilland was an operator in the Communications Department at Wake Medical Center. She formerly worked for Southern Bell Telephone Co., AT&T and in Wake County Social Services for more than 15 years. 
Besides her mother, she is survived by her son, Christopher Madison Gilland of the Virgin Islands; and a sister, Lynda E. Burrow of Cary, N.C. 
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne A. Gardner with burial in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. An announcement for a memorial service in Raleigh, N.C., will be announced at a later date.
