 Mary Violet Fuller Bryant, 77, of 32365 Burnt Reed Road, died Oct. 3, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 
Mrs. Bryant was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and was the daughter of the late James and Lucy Beale Fuller. She was a retired quilter at Narricot Industries Inc. and a member of Boykins Baptist Church. 
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Johnnie F. Bryant; a son, Johnnie F. Bryant Jr. and his wife, Lois; a sister, Virginia Futrell of Capron; a brother, Earl Fuller; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Carolyn Bryant and two sons, James Robert and William Bland Bryant. 
A graveside funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorial donations be made to Boykins Baptist Church, The Boykins Volunteer Squad or the American Cancer Society. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
