SUFFOLK - Elizabeth Irene Braford, 45, of the 400 block of Williams Road, died April 9, 2002, at her residence. 
A native of Suffolk, she worked for seven years as a teacher's aide at Mount Zion Elementary School. Elizabeth loved playing hand bells with the Hand Bell Choir at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and sing- ing in the Chancel Choir. 
Elizabeth was the daughter of Rosa Fravel Cook and the late Otis Aldine Fravel. She was pre- deceased by a sister, Mrs. Audrey Chipman and niece Shannon L Chipman. 
Survivors include her husband, Paul H. Braford of Suffolk; sons, Christopher Hunter Braford and Jarrett Paul Braford of Suffolk; mother and stepfather, Rosa Fra-H vel Cook and Roger Cook of Cora-H peake, N.C.; sister and brother-in- law, Rosalee and Danny Gardner of Suffolk; best friend and adopt- ed sisters, Kathy Runyon and Cin- dy Moegenberg of Suffolk; broth- ers and sisters-in-law, Charles Fravel of Eure, N.C., Donald and Polly Fravel of Harrisonburg, L Paul and Sue Fravel of Manning-H ton, W.Va., Robert and Brenda Fravel of Cumberland, Md., Ron- ald and Ginny Fravel of Alma, Ark.; stepbrothers, Roger M. Cook of Colonial Heights, Bobby Cook of Windsor; stepsister, Delores Cook of Petersburg; mother-in- law, Eleanor A. Braford of Suf- folk; father-in-law and wife, Rob- ert H. and Marion Braford of Suffolk; sister-in-law and husband Mary L. and John S. Martin of Chesapeake; brother-in-law and wife, Robert A. and Susan B. Bra-H ford of Suffolk; nieces, Brandy Chipman, Beth Gabel of Suffolk; nephew and wife, Jason and Sa- rah Chipman of Suffolk; great- niece, Heather Chipman of Suf- folk; great-nephews, Jacob L Chipman and Christopher Jenkins Jr. of Suffolk; Uncle Bud Written-H berry of Suffolk; and many other nieces and nephews. 
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's Episco- pal Church by the Rev. Vance Mann. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Paul's Episcopal Church's Hand Bell Choir or the American Cancer Society. 
The family would like to thank caregivers Kathy Kunyon, Mitzi Lewis, Susan Braford, Brandy Chipman, Beth Gabel and Mary Martin; also, the Mount Zion Ele- mentary School Faculty and staff; Karen Brickey, Melissa Gardner and Terry Harper of Suffolk Pub- lic Schools; Buryl Dearhart, vice president of Operations at Cox Transportation Co.; Steve Norris and Ed Barton and other staff members and team at Cox Trans- portation in Mechanicsville, Va.; oncologist Dr. Alexander Su; sur- geon Dr. Matthew McBee; pulmo- nary specialist Dr. Jeffrey For-H man as well as the many other friends and relatives who took care of Elizabeth, brought food, called or sent cards, letters or flowers and donated sick leave days. With your generous gifts of time, food, cards and letters, the family will be able to have closure and move forward as Elizabeth would have wanted.
