CHESEAPEAKE - Bettie T.E. Dailey, 91, of the 2300 block of Paramont
Ave., passed away Sept. 12, 2005. Born Nov. 6, 1913, in Sebrell, Va.,
she was the widow of Fredrick Ralph Dailey. Sr., who passed away eight
years ago. Bettie Dailey was a name well-known in the Chesapeake School
System, with countless years of volunteering her time through various
positions in the Parent Teachers Association and Choral Parents
Association for the Great Bridge and Indian River schools. Even after
her own children had graduated, she continued to volunteer her time. She
will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered. Survivors include her
sister, Margaret Wright of Norfolk; a son Curtis Peterson and his wife
Carol of Athens, Tenn.; a son, Fredrick Dailey, Jr. of Chesapeake; a son
Alonzo Dailey and his wife Shelia of Suffolk; a daughter Estella Barnett
and her husband Bruck of Joppa, Md.; as well as eight grandchildren,
nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous
extended family members. She was predeceased by one grandchild. A
service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Hollomon Brown Funeral
Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Dave Libengood. Burial will
follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9
