HEATHER ELAINE CARTER

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, July 18, 2002

 Heather Elaine Carter, 10, of the 4300 block of Driver Lane, died July 16, 2002, in Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. 
She was a native of Portsmouth and a member of Nansemond River Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Children's Sunday School and attended the Centri-Kids Camp. Heather was a student at Driver Elementary School and a member of the TCC Gymnastics Team. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Albert and Elaine Simpson. 
Survivors include her mother, Jane Simpson Carter of Suffolk; brothers, Steven P. Hercher of Suffolk, Jimmy Lee Hercher of Windsor, Va., Sean R. Wallace of Virginia Beach, Billy C. Jones Jr. of Suffolk; foster parents, David and Christine Rowley of Suffolk; nine aunts and nine uncles. 
A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Nansemond River Baptist Church by the Revs. Tim Piland and Tommy Larson with interment in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Harrell & Hill Funeral Home and other times at 119 Clay St., Suffolk. 
Memorials may be made to the Nansemond River Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Memory of Heather Carter, 2896 Bridge Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 or LifeNET Donor Memorial Foundation, 5809 Ward Court, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
