   CAPRON - Mamie Elizabeth Harrell, 53, of the 19800 block of Popes Station Road, died March 16, 2001.
   She was a native of Suffolk and worked in the bakery and deli at Wal-Mart of Franklin. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence B. Carpenter Sr., and was predeceased by a sister, Elnora Upton.
   Survivors include her mother, Florence Duck Nixon of Suffolk, her husband, Ronald W. Harrell Sr. of Capron; two daughters and sons-in-law. Marie and Gary Davis, and Shirley and Donald Scott, both of Suffolk; one son, Robert Carpenter Sr. of Suffolk; one step-son, Ronald W. Harrell Jr. of Capron; eight grandchildren; sisters, Mary Asbell of Norfolk, Frances Whisnant of Suffolk, Stella Trout of Pensacola, Fla., and Betty Crumpler of Fort Valley, Ga.; and brothers, Lawrence Carpenter Jr. of Suffolk, and Sonny Carpenter of Providence, R.I.
   A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, with the Rev. T.A. Powell officiating. Interment will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
