LOUVENIA BYRD BLYTHE

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 12, 2000 

Louvenia Byrd Blythe, 83, devoted wife, mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord Sept. 11, 2000, at Southampton Hospital, East Pavilion. She was born in Nansemond County, Va., and was the widow of William L. Blythe Sr. She was a longtime member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Kingdom Builders Sunday School class. 

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, family, friends and caregivers. She is survived by two daughters, Shelby B. Coggsdale and husband, J.W., of Courtland and Carolyn B. Thornton and husband, Bill, of Williamsburg; two sons, Bill Blythe and wife, Julie, of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Larry Blythe of Carrsville; and a sister, Lucy Holland of Franklin. 

She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Vanessa Vick, Donna Taylor, Lori A. Coggsdale, Waverly Coggsdale, Amy Beane, Abby Thornton, Emily Blythe, Anna-Lee Blythe, Mary Alice Blythe and Jessica Blythe; and 10 great-grandchildren, a nephew and a sister-in-law. 

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Holland-Rideout Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Shelby Coggsdale, 24304 Willow Circle, Courtland.
