Vida B. English, 78, widow of Stanley English, died Aug. 15, 1999. Mrs. English was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, John C. English of Greensboro, N.C., and Robert English of Emporia; two daughters, Ruby E. Pate of Lake Wylie, S.C, and Carolyn E. Burch of South Hill; and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Southampton Memorial Park , Franklin. The family will receive friends following the funeral at the home of Mrs. English's son, Robert, in Emporia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
