Dorothy Brett Burrow, 81, died July 14, 2000, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born in Como, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Hunt Brett and the widow of Willie L. Burrow, the former chief of police for the city of Franklin. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia B. Whittington of Richmond, Barbara B. Martin of Ellicott City, Md., and Janet B. Boyd of Franklin; a sister, Catherine B. Howell of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, by the Rev. Edward C. Johnson. The family will receive friends at the home of Janet and Norwood Boyd, 405 Meadow Lane, Franklin, and suggests that memorials be made to High Street United Methodist Church, 301 W. First Ave., Franklin, VA 23851. Wright Funeral Home is in charge.
