Verna Bradshaw Carr, 72, of the 6200 block of Carrsville Highway, died March 29, 1997, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late John Ernest and Annie Florence Bland Bradshaw. She was a paper tester in the sheet finishing department of Union Camp Corp. and had retired after 27 years of service. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Lonnie Carr; a son, James V. Carr Sr. and his wife, Nita, of Windsor; four sisters, Ruby Carr of Suffolk, Margaret Drake of Sedley, Louise Pope and Mary E. Carr, both of Franklin; four brothers, Leroy Bradshaw of Franklin, Morgan Bradshaw, Russell Bradshaw and Alfred Bradshaw, all of Suffolk; two grandchildren, James V. Carr Jr. and his wife, Nancy, and William Tracy Carr; and one great-grandchild, Kristin Lynn Carr. She was predeceased by a brother and sister, Ernest ``Bud'' Bradshaw and Lois B. Carr.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Durward Vaughan and the Rev. Lee Bowers. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Jim and Nancy Carr, 26536 Spiveytown Road, Windsor.
