FRANKLIN - Marjorie Brantley Blythe, 87, died Feb. 7, 2002, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 

A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Lee and Pattie Holcombe Brantley, and was the widow of Edgar Blythe. Mrs. Blythe was co-owner and operator of Edgar Blythe's grocery in Hunterdale and was a member of the Hunterdale United Church of Christ. 

Survivors include five sisters-in-law, Lola Bass of Courtland, Virgie Harrison of Norfolk, Claris "Tab" Graham of Portsmouth, Doris Holt of Lugoff, S.C., and Janice Hollowell of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Carey Blythe of Courtland; several cousins; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Denise Smelley officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hunterdale United Church of Christ, 741 Hunterdale Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
