JoAnn Baylous Carr, 54, the former postmistress at the Walters Post Office, died July 2, 1999, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 
She was born Feb. 19, 1945, in South Boston, Va., a daughter of the late Walter Robert and Dee Warren Baylous. Mrs. Carr was a member of the Walters Homemakers Club and the Woodmen of the World. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. 
Survivors include her husband, Jasper Carr Jr.; a daughter, Nicole D. Carr of Walters; three sisters, Phyllis B. Ford of Windsor, Doris B. Carns and her husband, Frank, of Charlotte, N.C., Peggy B. Britt and husband, Frankie, of Walters; and several nieces and nephews. 
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mt. Carmel Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1290 Seminole Trail, Suite 2, Charlottesville VA 22901 or Mt. Carmel Christian Church, 27882 Walters Hwy., Walters VA 23481.
