Bio Files are generated automatically and include details extracted from STP indexes and documents. Details may include the name of a person or place, type of event (birth, marriage, death, etc), names of relatives (parents, spouse, children etc.), and location of the event. Each event associated with a name is included as a separate record within a Bio File. A Bio File often contains information about individuals sharing the same name. To date, no attempt has been attempted to disaggregate records.
In some cases (such as places), Bio Files are created manually and then added to the directory.
Bios can be searched within STP using the Search link on the navigation bar above. To find information on external web sites (Ancestry, Family Search, USGenWeb, Library of Virginia, etc), try the search hints found in most Bio Files.
