He was a member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ, the Holy Neck Men's Bible Class, Suffolk Moose Lodge 141 and a life member of the Holland Volunteer Fire Department. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survived by his wife, Mary Poore Worrell; a daughter, Patsy W. Lewis of Suffolk; a son, Walter L. Worrell of Suffolk; a sister, Mary Sue Ankrom of Norfolk; two brothers, Robert Worrell and Joseph Worrell of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
