Rachel Carroll Williams 22 Aug 1930 - 7 Jun 2004 Rachel Williams Parke Mrs. Parke, formerly of Charlotte, passed away Monday, June 7, 2004 at her home in Eutawville, SC. She was born August 22, 1930 in Eldorado, NC to the late William Edward and Mattie Underwood Williams. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a member of the Valkyrie Society. Mrs. Parke had many endeavors, including recreational sports, early childhood education, writing, and family history. Above all, her passion was the pursuit of the happiness of those around her. Mrs. Parke was preceded in death by her sisters, Geneva Warren, Pearl Platt, and Eunice Whichard. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Parke Arvay and her children, Allison, C.C., and Robyn; son, David Parke and wife Cally, and their children Mallory and Connor; son, Charles Parke and wife Kathy and their children, John and Megan; brother, Tom Williams; and sister, Sarah LaTorre. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004 at Myers Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Donald Mitchell officiating and Mr. Bob Love assisting. A graveside gathering will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2004 at Harry and Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte.
