Frank Whitehurst Obituary Frank C. Whitehurst Chesapeake - Frank C. Whitehurst, 85, of Chesapeake died on December 13, 2013. Frank was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of the late William T. and Rosa D. Whitehurst. He retired from Green Gifford Chrysler in Norfolk after working 47 years in the automobile business. He was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He served on the board of directors at Maryview Hospital, was a founding member of the Silverwood Community League and served as the organist at the Naval Hospital Chapel as well as the Naval Shipyard Chapel from 1960 through 1979. He also played for numerous weddings, Masses and funerals at St. Paul's. He was predeceased by three brothers, Bill Whitehurst, Robert Whitehurst and Elbert Whitehurst. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Margaret Rose Reagan Whitehurst; a brother, Fred D. Whitehurst; two sons, David E. Whitehurst and wife Robin, Kevin Lee Whitehurst; a daughter, Anne Whitehurst Brandriff and husband Art; four grandchildren, Laura Owings, Jonathan Whitehurst, Austin Brandriff, "A. J" Brandriff; and a great-grandchild, Everly Owings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church, 518 High St. Portsmouth, on Wednesday, December 18 at 11:00 a. m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 p. m. Tuesday followed by visitation until 8:00 p. m. at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk.
