A graveside service will be conducted Sunday [30 April 2006] at 2:30 p.m. in the Greensville Memorial Cemetery in Emporia, Va. Mrs. Beale, a native of Emporia, Va., was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Fanny Newsome Whitehead. She was a graduate of Greensville County High School in Emporia. She was a homemaker and also assisted her husband in their business, Beale Sign Service. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Emporia, where she taught Sunday school for many years. In 1999, Alzheimer's forced her to move to an assisted living facility in Greenville, N.C. Mrs. Beale was deeply loved and will be missed by her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Beale. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lashley and husband, John E., of Greenville; three grandchildren, John Beale Lashley of Richmond, Va., Brenda L. Hougasian of Warrenton, Va., and Mary E. Lashley of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy W. Morris of Tarboro, N.C.
