Burial followed in Holly Lawn Cemetery. ## Transcript Ellen McCoy Ward 19 Feb 1927 - 26 Feb 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ellen Ward Faircloth February 26, 2009 Ellen Ward Faircloth, 82, passed away Feb. 26, 2009, at Lake Prince Woods in Suffolk. Born Feb. 19, 1927, in Whaleyville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Asbell Ward and McCoy Sherald Ward. Ellen graduated from Whaleyville High School and attended Longwood College. An active member of West End Baptist Church for more than 50 years, Ellen was always ready to step in and do what needed to be done. She also served on the board of the Suffolk chapter of the American Cancer Society for more than 12 years and was an active past member and officer of the Lakeview Heights Garden Club. Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Allen Joshua Faircloth. Survivors include her daughter, Hope Faircloth Coffey and her husband, Gary W. Coffey, of Wilkesboro, N.C.; her son, Allen Joshua "Jay" Faircloth Jr. and his wife, Susan Pickard Faircloth, of Cary, N.C.; three granddaughters, Ashton Coffey, Taylor Faircloth, and Faith Faircloth; devoted niece Christy Faircloth Lynch and husband Jimmy Lynch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted March 1, 2009, at 2 p.m. in West End Baptist Church, 105 St. James Ave., Suffolk, VA 23434.
