State College of Engineering, died Thursday 22 Mar 1962 in Rex Hospital. He was a son of J. B. and Mrs. Ida Rawls Vaughan of Franklin. He was married to the late Lula Brewer of Raleigh. He lived at 11 Enterprise St. and was associated with State College from 1906 until retirement in 1949. He completed graduate work at Columbia University after graduation from N.C. State. He was a member of many scientific and professional fraternities, among them the Ameri- can Heating and Venti- lating Engineering and the American Society of Ventilating neers. He also was a member of State Board of Examiners for plumbing and heating contractors 23 vears, and was member of William G. Hill Masonic Lodge, Raleigh, and a special armed forces instructor in World War I and II. He also was a member of board of directors United Christian Church and the YMCA board of at State College, and a trustee of Elon College.
