Clyde Vaughan Obituary Clyde Hayes Vaughan October 12, 1932 - January 29, 2020 Courtland - Clyde Hayes Vaughan, 87, passed away January 29, 2020 in his home with his family by his side. He was a son of the late Clyde and Martha Lankford Vaughan and was also predeceased by a sister Jean Hicks and a brother Richard Lee Vaughan. Clyde was a retired Lead Lab Analyst at Hercules, Inc. and a former high school basketball referee. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church having formerly served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Clyde was a collector of antique battery operated toys and always eager to give advice on the stock market. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Bateman Vaughan; two daughters Dianne Guse (Steve) of Williamsburg and Donna Howell (David) of Courtland, VA; two sons Dean Vaughan (Babbi Slack) of Berlin, MD and Doug Vaughan (Carla) of Murrells Inlet, SC; two step-daughters Pamela Mihovch (C.C.) of Wanchese, NC and Susan Johnson of Winterhaven, FL; a sister Peggy Holland (Frank) of Suffolk; a twin brother Carl Vaughan (Ann) of Brentwood, TN; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his dog Sir Tesla and cat Prissy. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
