CARRIE VAUGHAN BEALE Mrs. Carrie Vaughan Beale, age 57 years, well known and beloved resident of Franklin died early Friday morning at her home in Pace’s Court after an illness of many weeks. Mrs. Beale was the daughter of the late James A. and Cornelia Scott Vaughan of Isle of Wight County, near Carrsville. She was alumna of RandolphMacon College of Lynchburg and on June 19, 1912 she married Ernest L. Beale of Franklin an attorney-at-law, who survives her, and to this union was born three sons, James Vaughan Beale and Ernest L. Beale, Jr., of Norfolk, and John 8. Beale of Franklin. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Joe Gay Boone of Carrsville and Miss Erma Lee Vaughan of Franklin and a number of nieces and nephews. She was an active member of the Congregational Christian Church of Franklin, having taught the Woman’s Bible Class for over twenty years, and a few years ago was named in her honor, The Carrie Beale Class, a member of the Woman's Missionary Society, Birdie Rowland Circle. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the residence, Rev. Robert M. Kimball, her pastor, and Dr. William T. Scott of Elon College, a former pastor officiating. Interment will be made in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
