Obituary of George Washington Turner 7 Mar 1913 - 2 Sep 1958 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TURNER FUNERAL SET FOR THURSDAY FRANKLIN — Funeral services for George Washington Turner will be conducted Thursday at 4 p. m. at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. R. E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church and the Rev. C. L. Walker, pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle on the Holland Road. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Mr. Turner, 42, died Tuesday at 3 a. m. at his home, Route 2, Franklin, after an illness of sis months. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Betty Pope Turner, and son of Mrs. Nolie Turner, and the late John Turner of Isle of Wight County. Surviving are four sisters, Miss Marie Turner of Franklin; Mrs. Clayton McClenny of Holland; Mrs J. H. Copeland of Raleigh, N. C., and Mrs. W. S. Ellis of Nanaemond County; four brothers, Raleigh Turner and Fenton Turner, both of Colerain, N. C.; Ray L; Turner and James Turner, both ef Nansemond County.
