EARNEST E.TURNER, SR. IVOR - Earnest E. Turner, Sr., 83, of Ivor passed away Friday, September 20, 201 3. He was a member of Ivor Baptist where he had six years of perfect attendance and was a previous member of Zuni Presbyterian Church. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Ivor Volunteer Fire Department for many years as well as a member of Ivor Masonic Lodge 291 A.F. & A.M. He had just received his 50 year membership pin and plaque. Mr. Turner was a retired insurance agent for American General and an avid New York Yankees and Washington Redskins fan. He loved the outdoors where he tended his garden for over sixty years. Earnest loved music and loved to dance with his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard James Turner, Sr. and Rosa Lee Carr Turner; his siblings, Clyde Matthew Turner, Richard James Turner, Jr., Darius Alfred Turner, Sr. and Sarah Jane Barrett. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Joyce Britt Turner; daughter, Trena Turner Berg and husband, Michael and their children, Michael Brian White, Ashley Kaye White, Brandy Nicole Berg, Jessica Michelle Berg; son, Earnest Edward Turner, Jr. and his children, Kevin Christopher Turner and David Aaron Turner and their mother, Anne-Louise Burley; greatgrandchildren, Austyn and Benjamin; sister, Betty Paige Johnson; and 22 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 21, 2013 at R.W. Baker & Co.
