Tomlin, Jr. September 17, 1956 - November 22, 2017 Como, NC - William Arthur "Billy" Tomlin, Jr., age 61, went home to his Lord on November 22, 2017, following an extremely short and hard battle with cancer. He was the son of the late William A."Bill" and Patsy Tomlin of Franklin. He was also predeceased by nephew, Stephen J. Drake, and great-niece Abbi Drake. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Nancy Parker Tomlin, daughters Carol Tomlin and Taylor Tomlin, grandchildren Caitlyn, Tyler, and Chloe Willoughby (all of Como), sisters Linda T. Drake (Joe) of Newsoms and Alice T. Mason (Ricky) of Franklin and their families, as well as numerous cousins. He also leaves favorite pets Darla and Winston. Billy was born and raised in Franklin (Hunterdale) and spent time as a volunteer for the Hunterdale and Franklin Fire Departments. He loved his days at the old Hunterdale Bowling Alley. Billy grew up at Beaverdam Baptist Church. He graduated from Southampton High School in 1974. Billy worked 39 years for the City of Franklin Power and Light Department and retired last year. Billy loved his family dearly and was especially devoted to his grandchildren with whom he spent as much time as possible. His presence in their lives will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Glenn Riggs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
