Lewis Will Thorpe LAKE CITY — Lewis Will Thorpe, 72, Lake City lumberman, died at the home of his brother, A. J. Thorpe, on Adline Avenue at 8:15 last night after a short illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Epps Funeral Home. Mr. Thorpe was born and reared in Southampton County, Virginia, a son of the late A.B. and Martha Ferguson Thorpe. He attended schools in Suffolk, Va., and entered the lumber business, moving to Lake City 37 years ago. He was associated with the Deep River Lumber Company, and later with the Dixon Lumber Company here. He was a member of the Lake City Methodist Church. His wife preceded him in death seven years ago. Surviving are a son, Ralford L. Thorpe of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. B. P. Tippman of Lake City; his brother; two sisters, Mrs. J. S. Harrell and Mrs. Alice Carter of Effingham; and four grandchildren.
