LAKE CITY － Graveside services for Mary Benton T. Thornal, 87, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Lake City Cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 tonight at Brockington Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Thornal, widow of Edward Theodore Thornal, died Thursday after an illness. Born in Newsoms, Va., she was a daughter of the late Lewis Thorpe and Eva H. Lassister Thorpe. 

Surviving are daughters, Mary Elizabeth Thomas of Columbia, Shirley Ann Hebert of Hickory, N.C.; granddaughters, Heather Ashley Thomas of Columbia, Virginia Hebert and Katherine Hebert, both of Hickory, N.C.
