Obituary of Delaware Thomas (Dellie) Story 30 JUN 1880 - 22 MAY 1957 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dellie T. Story Dellie Thomas Story, 74, well-known resident and farmer of Newsoms community, died Wednesday, May 22, at 7:15 p. m. at Raiford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and was the husband of Mrs. Lizzie Branch Miles Story of Newsoms He was the son of Councill and Lottie Anne Babb Story of Newsoms. He was a member of Newsoms Methodist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Inez Virginia Story Davis of Newsoms; one son, Harvey Story of Duane, King William County; nine grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the Courtland Methodist Church by Rev. O. L. Gouchenour, pastor of the Newsoms Methodist Church, and Rev. C. A. McCormick, Jr., pastor of the Courtland Methodist Church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Active pallbearers will be Julian Fowler, Eppa Prince, John Tom Harrup, Dellie Vick, Linwood Britton and June Drewry. Friends of the family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
