Gary Stone Obituary Gary James Stone, 78, of Suffolk, Va. passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. He is predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Helen Tripp Stone and brother, Ted Stone. Gary retired from the U. S. Navy after serving 23 years. After his retirement he worked for the Portsmouth Sheriff Department providing security. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed casting out in freshwater. He is survived by his significant other and friend, Melba T. Parker; children, Christine Teresa Chaet, Cheryl Lynn Tinkler, and Richard Paul Stone; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Stone Moore; and brothers, Larry and David Stone. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 10, at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery, 5310 Milner's Rd. Suffolk, Va. Please meet at R. W. Baker & Co.
