Emmett Prince Spivey 10 AUG 1871 - 28 JAN 1959 Emmett P. Spivey SEDLEY-Emmett Patrick Spivey, 87, well known retired farmer, died at his home after an illness of many months early Wednesday. He was the husband of the late Betty Williams and the son of Dedge and Miriam White Spivey of Southampton County. He was a member of Johnsons Grove Christian Church. Surviving are two sons, William 0. Spivey and Emerson Spivey, both of Emporia; two daughters, Eunice Spivey of Franklin and Mrs. Harriet Gilbert of New York City; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ommie Crocker Hopewell and Mrs. Annie Laine of Petersburg; also a number nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the W. J. M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. Paul D. Early, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Emporia, and the Rev. Melville Johnson, pastor the Methodist Church at Sedley. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
